Chocolate Chockin'

My latest commercial shoot for PTI. I would've had more chocolates in the shot but I kept eatin' 'em ;-)

UCSD Photowalk Group Photo

Last weekend, 12 people from my SmugMug Photographer's Group got together on the UCSD campus to do a "Photowalk". The idea was to cruise around campus and see how creative we could get with the lens. I got the chance to hang and get inspired from some cool peeps, and had a great time! Here's a group shot I took (gotta love those 10 second timers).

Happy Valentine's Day

I was recently commissioned by PTI to shoot Tulips and Heart Candy for Valentine's Day. PTI is a marketing company that sells software to put personal messages on photos. Here's a few samples from the shoot.

Get Lowe! Get Lowe!

I can FINALLY talk about this!
I have been the liaison between Lowepro (the camera bag manufacturer) and our local San Diego Smug Mug Photographer's Group. For the last couple of months I have been helping organize and lead this collaboration. Lowepro provided us with unreleased bags to test, take photos, and report on them.
About a month ago, 8 of us Smuggies all met downtown to do an Urban-themed photo shoot with the bags. I am proud to say the collaboration was a complete success and Lowepro is thrilled! Today Lowepro officially released the Event Messenger Bag series. Below are some of my photos from our shoot. Thanks to everyone involved!!!

PS - more great stuff coming up over the next few months with me and Lowepro - stick around  ;-)

Miniature Blur

Here's a sample of a blurring technique I applied to get an interesting "miniature blur" look that you can find from tilt-shift lenses.

One More Sunset

Ok, ok, as much as I try to resist posting photos of sunsets (to not bore everyone with "another sunset photo"), I couldn't help myself ;-)

Keep it Light

I love diggin' in my archives and revisiting my photos - I always seem to come across a gem that may have escaped my attention the first time around. During a Memorial, I was able to capture the light-heartedness of Dave, one of the friends that was there to pay his respects. This photo is a reminder to me to always see the Light in what may appear as the dark, and to celebrate Life.
